How we calculate
One method sets the valuation tool, the table above and the price check on listings.
Similar cars
Listings of the same make and model on PuraAutos. Prices under â‚¡100,000 are left out.
Same year
The same model year when there are at least 8. If not, one year either side, adjusted 7% per year.
No extremes
Prices far from the rest are dropped. With fewer than 3 cars left, we give no number.
Middle half
We show the median and the middle half of prices. In the valuation, your km moves it by up to 10%.

When there are at least 5 similar cars and their prices aren't too scattered, the listing shows where its price sits:

Is this the Kelley Blue Book?
No. It's PuraAutos' free price guide, made from cars listed in Costa Rica. Prices from other countries don't apply here.
Why is there no price for my car?
We need at least 3 similar cars listed to give an estimate; we'd rather say so than guess. The tool suggests nearby years that do have enough, and the model page shows every year.
Are these final sale prices?
No. They're asking prices, and the final price is usually negotiated. Use the range to negotiate.
Do km and condition count?
Yes. In the valuation, your km is compared with the similar cars and moves the estimate by up to 10%. The condition you choose applies a fixed adjustment; it isn't market data.
How much does the traspaso cost?
About 3.5% of the price including fees, and it's done at a notary. Each listing shows an estimate.
Is it free? Does PuraAutos buy cars?
